bishop john brannon

John Brannon

Bishop / Apostle / Senior Pastor

A father of three wonderful children and the husband of one awesome wife. He is the establishing Director of John Brannon Ministries. He is the establisher and Senior Pastor of Living Word Ministries International in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Our Apostle, Bishop John Brannon was born in Columbia, South Carolina and raised in New York City under the watchful care of his mother the late Elder Mattie Brannon. At the age of nine, John felt and recognized the call of God on his life. He preached his first sermon at the age of nine. But he would later walk away for the call. For years he ran from that call seeking success in the ways of the world and all it had to offer.

He quickly became a successful military leader, but he had no peace in his heart despite all the worldly success he had achieved at such a young age. When asked how he defines the key to his return to the church, Bishop John Brannon declares “I had many of those praying mothers in the church that never stopped believing in me and for my salvation.” Consequently and, at the age of 28, John Brannon rededicated his life to his call and returned to his first love, Jesus Christ.

When he realized that his heart was still longing for a reconnection to Jesus, he returned to the church humbled and ready to serve. Upon his return 1989, he quickly advanced from sitting in a pew of a Bible study to assisting and leading numerous positions in the church. He has served in about every aspect of work in the church from sweeping the floors and cleaning the bathrooms to evangelism in the parks and to a leading Bible study for singles. Formerly a leader in the Church of God of Prophecy he would leave that organization to pursue his vision.

Today, LWMI has become a very successful ministry under the leadership of our Bishop. This advancing ministry is presently involved in more than nine countries outside the U.S., most recently added to his covering of missionaries and pastors is the country of the Philippines and State of Arizona. Bishop John Brannon has been described by his peers – in the greater secular and spiritual community – as a true no-nonsense leader who understands the feelings of shame and disappointment and he is an example to follow in the ministry of reconciliation between relationships with families, cultures, and denominations. He is known as a visionary and answers the call of missions both overseas and here in the United States. His caring fatherly leadership style now connects nineteen states inside the U.S. Bishop Brannon presently has three Doctoral Degrees one in Ministry, one in Divinity and in Theology he is currently pursuing PHD in Christian Psychology and Counseling with Liberty University.
